As we get ready to ring in a new year and take time to reflect on 2023, we express deep gratitude for partners like you. Together, we are all advancing important initiatives to meet the critical needs of our time, and that is paramount to the Annenberg Foundation.
We remain committed to helping build a brighter future for all people by providing the funding and the framework to address pressing challenges such as permanent supportive housing, worsening food insecurity, education, affordable health care, social justice, diversity and inclusion, animal welfare, aging and longevity, and access to the arts.

Construction of the Annenberg Wildlife Crossing continues over ten lanes of the 101 freeway. Public tours of the crossing site have been a hit, and the innovative nursery being used to grow native seeds for the bridge was profiled by the LA Times. Learn more →
Thanks to the collaborative effort between the Annenberg Foundation, its philanthropic partners, and our impactful community based organizations, LA’s first-ever Office of Food Equity was approved by the LA Board of Supervisors. The office will use the LA County Food Equity Roundtable’s report as a roadmap to help address food insecurity in the region. Learn more →
Explore took its cameras on the road, debuting the Explore Zen Den at the Aspen Ideas Festival. Attendees flocked to the pop up to unwind and watch serene views of animals all over the world, broadcast from Explore’s live cameras. Learn more →
Metabolic Studio’s innovative reuse of LA River water was profiled in the LA Times. The article highlights how Bending the River aims to encourage experimentation in city infrastructure through its historic work diverting, cleaning, and repurposing water. Learn more →
In 2017, Mira Nadon received the School of American Ballet’s inaugural GRoW @ Annenberg Fellowship, part of the academy’s diversity initiative. This year, the rising star became the New York City Ballet’s first Asian American female principal dancer.

This year’s winner of the Wallis Annenberg Justice for Women Journalists Award, Yalda Moaiery, attended the awards and was recognized for her work covering state protests in Iran. Moaiery was arrested and sentenced to six years in prison but remains out on bail. She visited the Annenberg Foundation offices to speak about what the award means to her. Learn more →
AnnenbergTech’s PledgeLA initiative is now the model for New York City’s new Venture Access Alliance, which launched this year and aims to increase access to capital for under-represented founders in New York City.
