The Annenberg Foundation today announced that Marsha Bonner will be joining its senior leadership team as Director of Programs, Community Grantmaking and Special Initiatives, effective immediately. In her new role, Ms. Bonner will play a crucial part in driving forward the Foundation’s wide-ranging investment in community.

In her new role, Ms. Bonner will play a crucial part in driving forward the Foundation’s wide-ranging investment in community.

Ms. Bonner comes to the Annenberg Foundation with over thirty years of grantmaking experience, most recently as Director of Grantmaking & Evaluation at the Marguerite Casey Foundation in Seattle, WA, where she oversaw grantmaking and evaluation and a grants budget of close to $30 million.
Ms. Bonner’s professional experience includes a robust portfolio of executive positions at some of the nation’s top foundations. She served as Senior Fund Advisor for The Lia Fund, a family foundation based in Point Reyes Station, CA; Vice President for Programs at the Marin Community Foundation in Novato, CA, one of the largest community foundations in the country; Associate Director and Program Officer at the Aaron Diamond Foundation in New York, NY; and Executive Director of the North Star Fund of New York, NY.
A graduate of Princeton University, Ms. Bonner has served on the board or as a member of 19 philanthropic organizations representing a wide range of needs in the community, from legal defense, to social justice, to AIDS funds, to art councils and more. She currently is a member of the Board of Directors for Carlos Santana’s Milagro Foundation in San Rafael, CA.
