This Policy describes how we use information we collect on our websites and applications on which it appears. It does not describe or apply to any of our websites where it does not appear. It does not apply to information we collect offline or from our employees.
We collect the following categories of information from and about you:
Contact Information: We collect name and street address. We also collect phone number and email address.
Demographic information: We collect your zip code. We collect gender, ethnicity and disability information from job applicants. PledgeLA may collect additional demographic information anonymously from you through its surveys, including race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability status, immigration status, veteran status, education history and employment history.
Grant applicant information: As a part of the grant application process, we collect employment history from grant applicants. We also collect tax identification numbers, which may include Social Security Numbers, and bank account information from grant applicants.
Job applicant information: If you apply for a job, we collect information about your education and employment history. We also collect Social Security Numbers from job applicants.
Usage information: We collect information about your browser and IP address. We also collect internet connection and operating system information. We collect information about the site you visit when you leave us or what site you came from.
Location information: The Space for Photography website and app collect location information. This may include precise location. We may collect this using different types of technologies, including IP-based location, GPS and beacons.
We use information as follows:
To provide and service grants, initiatives and other services: We use contact, demographic, and grant applicant information to assess grant applications and award grants. We use contact information to communicate with grantees, initiative participants and other individuals. We use grant applicant information to process payments to grantees. PledgeLA aggregates anonymized demographic information to create reports on diversity, inclusion and equity. Space for Photography uses location information gathered by its app to determine your location within its exhibit space for audio tours.
To answer your questions and respond to your requests: We use contact information to provide our services. We also use your information to respond to questions or to troubleshoot issues you may have with our site. Space for Photography uses your contact information to setup tours and for exhibit and event RSVPs.
To improve our websites: We use usage information to improve our website and make our services better.
For employment purposes. We use job applicant information to review employment applications and for hiring decisions.
For marketing purposes. We use contact information to send you our newsletter or other information about our products or services which we think you will find interesting. We use demographic and location information to provide relevant information about our products or services to you.
For security purposes: We use your contact, demographic, and usage information to protect our organization, our website and our website users.
To communicate with you for transactional purposes: We use your contact information to contact you regarding this policy or our terms.
We may also use push notifications on our mobile apps. Space for Photography may send you push notifications through its mobile app to notify you of new content, such as audio tours, updates or other information related to the guest experience at the Photo Space.
We may use information as otherwise permitted by law or as we may notify you.
We collect information in the following ways:
Directly from you: We collect contact, demographic, job applicant, grant application information directly from you. This includes if you sign up for one of our newsletters, respond to one of our surveys, apply for a grant or submit an application for employment.
Passively: We collect usage and location information passively. We use tracking tools, including cookies and web beacons, to collect usage information. We may use these tools on our website, apps and in our emails.
From Third Parties: We may collect contact, demographic or usage information from third parties. This might include our partners and social media websites.
Combining Information: We combine information we obtain from different sources. We might combine information you submit on our website with information we gather passively.
We share information with third parties in the following circumstances:
With related entities: We share contact information with other Annenberg entities and those under common control with Annenberg Foundation.
With service providers who do things on our behalf: We share contact information with trusted vendors. This includes sharing contact information with our email vendor or a service provider who maintains our website. We also share contact information with our capacity building for nonprofits vendor, which matches volunteers with nonprofits.
We share job applicant information with potential employers: PledgeLA may share job application information for their internship program with potential employers.
To comply with the law or to protect ourselves: We will share information to respond to a court order or subpoena. We may share it if a government agency or investigatory body requests. We might share information when we are investigating potential fraud.
We may share information with any successor to all or part of our business. For example, if part of Annenberg Foundation is sold or transferred we may share information.
We may share information for other reasons we may describe to you.
You have choices about how we use your information:
Newsletter Emails: You can opt-out of newsletter emails by following the instructions in the email we send.
Cookies and Tracking Tools: Your browser may give you the ability to control cookies or other tracking tools. Certain browsers can be set to reject browser cookies.
Our Do Not Track Policy: Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. We do not currently respond to those signals. Certain features on our site may not work if you block cookies. If you block or reject cookies, not all of our tracking will stop. Options you select are browser and device specific.
You can control tools on your mobile devices. For example, you can turn off Bluetooth, location services or push notifications on your phone. To modify push notifications you get from our app, you can alter your preferences in your profile.
We use reasonable security measures to protect your information. Any third party we share your information with must also use reasonable security measures. No website is completely secure. We encourage you to use websites and share information with caution.
Information we collect is stored in the United States. Our websites and apps are intended for people within the United States. If you live outside the United States and choose to use our sites or apps you understand that it is at your own risk. You also understand that your information will be sent to the United States. The United States may not afford the same level of protection as laws in your own country.
We may link to third party content. We do not control that content or the third party’s privacy practices. We encourage you to read their privacy policies to understand how they use your information. We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party sites or apps.
