Alliance for Housing and Healing (Alliance) provides essential housing and supportive services to people living in poverty with HIV/AIDS and other challenging health conditions. The roots of Alliance go back 35 years, to Aid For AIDS (AFA) and the Serra Project – both founded at the onset of the AIDS crisis. After years of cross-referring clients, the two organizations merged in 2009 to form Alliance. Today, the organization provides help to more than 1,300 individuals and families every year through permanent supportive housing, crisis housing, utility assistance, and food vouchers. Alliance, a CGM grantee, is the only Los Angeles County provider of fixed housing and wraparound, continuum-of-care services aimed exclusively at keeping multi-diagnosed, impoverished persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and their families housed and in care.
