Los Angeles, CA — The Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee is proud to unveil the official FIFA World Cup 26™ Los Angeles Host City Poster, designed by local artist and poster design contest winner, Thieb Delaporte Richard. Thieb’s winning design blends digital painting, collage, and illustration in compelling composition and colors that reflect the distinctive energy and iconic imagery of Los Angeles, and the excitement of the World Cup — counting down to the U.S. Opening Match in less than 450 days.
More than 900 entrants from across LA County participated in the Los Angeles Poster Design Contest last fall, with the final design selected by five of Los Angeles County’s most esteemed experts in public art and cultural exhibitions: renowned curator Ann Philbin, Director of LA County Department of Arts and Culture Kristin Sakoda, multimedia artist Glenn Kaino, printmaker Dewey Tafoya, and art collector and philanthropist Joy Simmons.

Thieb Delaporte-Richard is a multidisciplinary designer with a focus on art direction, motion design, and 3D. Born and raised in France, he moved to Los Angeles a decade ago, drawn to the city’s energy and creative possibilities. Soccer has been a constant in Thieb’s life, from playing as a child to following it passionately every day.
“I am beyond excited and honored to be selected as the winner for the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee Poster Design Contest,” said Thieb Delaporte-Richard, multidisciplinary designer and winner of the Los Angeles World Cup Poster Design Contest. “To be able to showcase my art to not just Los Angeles, but also on a global scale is an opportunity I cherish, creating a full-circle moment bringing together my love for the game, my career, and a city that has become a second home and continues to inspire me.”
The Host Committee worked closely with the Annenberg Foundation, leveraging its deep expertise and relationships within the arts community to conduct vast outreach to emerging designers and new artists across Los Angeles. To incentivize participation in the contest, the winning design was awarded $20,000, with three finalists receiving $2,500 and twelve additional submissions who received $500 each.
