Spotlight: Exploring the Arts

Exploring The Arts

Founded in 1999 by singer Tony Bennett and his wife Susan, the mission of Exploring the Arts, Inc. (ETA) is to transform the lives of young people through arts education. At the heart of ETA’s work is a vision to provide greater equality of resources and opportunity in the arts to traditionally underserved teens. In Los Angeles, ETA collaborates with high schools, community arts organizations, and funders to provide arts education in under-resourced public middle and high schools throughout the County. Through its Tony Bennett Arts Education Program, ETA makes a four-year commitment to its Partner Schools, helping them build sequential, school-day arts programs and increase out-of-school opportunities in the arts for their students. ETA’s Arts Internship Program places select 11th and 12th graders from Partner Schools as interns in one-to-one mentorship with professionals at arts organizations and cultural institutions. Students receive arts training, participate on organization-wide projects, attend arts events, and form transformational relationships with college-educated adults working in their creative field of interest. For more information, visit ETA’s website.
