Spotlight: Project Scientist

Project Scientist

Since 2011, Project Scientist has provided high quality STEM education to diverse populations of young girls nationwide. Project Scientist serves more than 2,000 girls each year, with the goal of increasing diversity in STEM by inspiring girls to explore careers in science-related fields. The cornerstone of Project Scientist in Los Angeles is its Summer STEM Academy, consisting of six-weeks of STEM intensives utilizing local credentialed teachers, engaging with over 200 women STEM professionals, and arranging up to 24 expeditions to local STEM-focused companies. In early 2020, Project Scientist will work with LAUSD schools to pilot an after-school program that will provide deeper year-round engagement to girls from under-resourced communities across LA.
