In December 2013, Gregory Annenberg Weingarten directed the purchase of sacred Native American Hopi and San Carlos Apache objects that were being auctioned to the public in France, against the will of the Hopi and San Carlos Apache. After purchasing 25 of the sacred objects, Gregory promptly returned them to their rightful owners.
