Journey: Providing free transportation for local students to the Annenberg Space for Photography

The bus scholarship makes all the difference – LAUSD cannot pay for buses for field trips so getting a bus scholarship was the ONLY way we could go.

“The kids got so excited when they saw the bus that says Annenberg all over it!”

“When we arrived back on campus, every student said such beautiful things about how they were impacted by the images.”

These quotes from educators make us especially proud to provide free transportation for Title I schools to visit the Annenberg Space for Photography. Since the program’s creation, over 1,000 Southern California students have traveled to us for a day of photography education, with guided and self-guided tours, documentary films and a digital gallery space. To help commemorate our anniversary, we’ve decorated two buses with Annenberg Space for Photography artwork to bring students on the journey.
