Los Angeles Food Policy Council Hosts Good Food Day Event at Metabolic Studio

Metabolic Studio will be the site of Good Food Day LA on March 31, 2012.

Produced and presented by The Office of Mayor Villaraigosa and The Los Angeles Food Policy Council, the free event will feature a resource fair, food trucks, a cooking contest, live music and a panel discussion on the fight for Fair Food.

“From the Local to the Global: Will Food Ever Be Fair?” panelists will discuss how our food choices impact the movement for Fair Food, which seeks equal access to healthy food and just treatment for the workers who produce and deliver food to our tables.  Guest speakers for the panel discussion include Pulitzer Prize-winning food writer Jonathan Gold, Joann Lo of the Food Chain Workers Alliance, Muthoni Muriu of Oxfam America and leadership from United Farm Workers.

The first 75 registrants for the panel discussion will receive a free wine flight at Le Pour Haus in honor of Good Food Day LA.  (Le Pour Haus, 1820 Industrial St., Los Angeles, CA 90021).

This event is wheelchair accessible.  Metabolic Studio is located under the Spring Street Bridge at 1745 N. Spring St., #4, Los Angeles, CA 90012.   Parking is available across the street at the Los Angeles State Historic Park.
